Finally starting my build!

So Im finally getting started on my build upgraded and building another system out of spare parts + picking up few more that was needed.  


  

My main system upgrade

Cpu: i7-2600k  

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V  

Memory: Corsair vengeance 16gb  

Storage: Intel 730 SSD 480gb ($199), Seagate SSHD 2tb ($85), Intel 335 SSD 240gb  

Graphics card: Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX 970 ($360)  

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Refurbished ($59)  

Fans: Noctua industrial NF-F12 x 2 ($40)  

Sound card: Asus Xonar DGX  

Power Supply: Corsair AX 750W  

Case: Corsair Air 540 Black ($69)  

Display: 2 x Dell S2415H ($320)  

Silverstone Dust filters and LED lights ($45)  

Total spending of $1178

  

  

Spare gaming rig

Cpu: AMD Fx-8310 ($85)  

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ($55)  

Memory: G.skills Ribjaws 8gb  

Storage: Kingston SSD 64gb, Toshiba HDD 2tb  

Graphics card: PNY GTX 580 1536MB 384-Bit GDD5 PCI Express 2.0x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support with CPU cooling  

CPU Cooler: Be quiet Pure Rock ($25)  

Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 750W ($39)  

Case: NZXT Source 340 ($55)  

Display: 2 x Samsung Syncmaster 21.5' Monitors  

Total spending of $259

Oh once Im done Im posting a different thread on the build logs forum. This one was just to make sure everything seems fine. Like a last check up!

I just finished my spare rig first!

Sorry for the potato quality. 

Once Im done both systems I will take some glamour shots properly!

I will start on my main system upgrade on the 11th

If it's finished, why is there a block sitting at the bottom of the case?

haha yeah so thats my graphics card that has both cpu and a gpu cooler. I asked around and the thing wasnt able to handle the cpu heat that well so I had to buy another cpu heatsink. So now it just sits at the bottom of the case taking in cool air. Im open to suggestions to what i should do with it.

Nah I'm jk, nice build though! :)

I was barely able to get 20 fps on farmville! :D

Nice build. What's that case called? Looks very roomy but I would be concerned about dust in there...

The case is Antec Lanboy I had the it for 3 years and Finally changing it to Air 540. It was fully modular and pretty good air flow and portability, but the thing is a DUST MAGNET. I had nightmares cleaning that thing every 2-3 weeks or so.

So I have finished physically building my main system. I just ran into a bit of a problem. The computer will start for about 5 seconds and it just shuts down. Any idea what the problem might be?

I had that problem and it turned out that my ram wasnt installed properly.

Ive just fixed the issue it had something to do with my fans interfering with my mobo. temporarily have them unplugged until I have the fix for them.
