Need help picking the right card

I plan to buy a new card at the end of january for the release of GTA V and I'll be playing on a 46" 1080p 60Hz TV paired to a i5-2380. What card would you guys say would be the cheapest I could go while maintaining locked at 60 FPS on at least high? (Nvidia prefered)

I'd go got a GTX 970 or an R9 290X. Should max out 1080p no problem.

Currently the budget amd cards are better price to performance. A r9 280 should do just fine.

We don't have any benchmarks to say for sure. The game could turn to be a clusterfuck like Unity(but not likely). If all goes well and is decently optimized I would say the 960 when it comes out could do the job.

for budget I'd go for a 280x or a 280

You should wait to see what the GTX 960 is going to look like. Supposedly it'll be unveiled at CES January 6-9.
