how good is the cx750m?

maddogl
Go to solution Solved by quan289,

The CX750M is based on a good mainstream platform, and it provides more usable power and performs better electrically than the NEX650G. Of course, it is less efficient and provide some cost down components since it belongs in a budget series of Corsair.

Either way, both unit will power the 7870 in CFX and both unit will be able to power the 280x. Unless you want to redo your cable management, just stick with the PSU you guys already have,

my friend has a cx750m i am just wondering will it be enough to power 2 7870's and a fx 6300? and will a evga 650g be enough to power a r9 280x with an i5?

i am wondering as i have 1 7870 and the 650g and my friend has the cx750m and the other 7870 and a 280x, we were planning on me buying the 7870 and then swapping psus i am just wondering if the cx750m would be enough for the 2 7870's for around £70

next upgrades. h440 . 8320.  possible liquid cooling AIO

600W is the recommended for 2x 7870's, so you should be fine.

And 650W is enough for an i5 + R9 280x.

A decent 650w is already more than enough for a 7870 cf and 550w for a 280x. You should be fine with either psu.

Just get a rosewill capstone 750w. It's better than the cx750m for around the same price. And it's gold rated. Corsair power supplies are okay but overpriced.

my friend already has the cx750m so this would be out of the question.
