Ok, so I recently purchased a U28D590D (Samsung 4k 28" TN) and I'm pretty happy with it. I was planning on buying 2 more for a surround setup, but only bought one to start with because I wanted to test it first before I made the investment. Anyways though, currently I have 2x 3gb GTX 780's and an I7-4930k on a full water cooling loop. I'm guessing as far as gpu power goes though, 2x 780's is probably not nearly enough for that. I was planning on upgrading to 980's eventually anyways. I currently have 3 1080 ips displays, and I usually only play games on one most of the time but occasionally on all three for a few games. So I dont really plan on always using all three displays all the time. Mostly I just have three monitors because I like to have a lot of things open and on screen at the same time, like playing a game while I have a video playing and some other program running on the side, like a screen capture program. I use my PC for just about everything, mostly playing games and working in Unreal Engine 4 though. So even though I dont really plan to run games across all three screens very often, I would still like to be able to if I want. My question is though, can I run this setup with the 780's? or do I have to upgrade right away to do this? And if so, Iwas planning on two 980's. Would I need to get a third? Or would this still be a bad idea with current gpu's? I honestly have no idea. Thanks for your help :)

Oh one more thing. If I cant run this setup with three displays, what about two? Thanks again.

I'd just hold off for Pasal or possibly the 390x before doing anything like that.

Youre going to probably want 4-6GB of RAM, you may not have to upgrade right away but it would have to be a priority. It's really all speculation because 4k surround is a very rare setup. Youll be able to run games on low/med setting No AA is my guess

Nothing can run 3 4k displays yet (

).

The 390x is reported to have a huge amount of bandwidth because it's using HBM (http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-r9-390x-arrives-1h-2015-feature-hydra-liquid-cooling/), so we'll see if it'll work 3 x 4k monitors. What is that, 11520 x 2160 ?

Ok, well what about just two 4k displays, or three if I only game on one? Would either of those work?

I think I'm just going to get the 980's for now and see how they perform.
