Hey, I'm thinking of buying a racing wheel.. ive never been huge into racing games but im also new to PC gaming so im curious are there any GOOD online racing games?

I'm looking for good graphics and active community are there any?

 

I remember seeing a gif from reddit (gaming) where there were like 30 ppl racing in a lobby and something hilarious happened..

don't know what it was called :(

The Crew just came out and I love it. Best racing MMO I've ever played. 

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

iracing is amazing as a simulator, but it's a subscription based service

I haven't tried iRacing but of course The Crew is an arcade racer, it's not meant to be realism/sim based

I've heard Assetto corsa is a really good racing sim but I bought it and couldn't get it working right with a controller or my wheel which I guess doesn't say much as I hadn't slept it over 24 hours because of work and my wheel is from like 2002 lol

To be fair OP didn't specify what type of game he was wanting...

 

So, if you want sim racing, id personally go with Assetto Corsa. If you want arcade, The Crew seems to be your best bet atm!

Assetto Corsa is indeed online. My wheel is older than some people on this website and when I can get it to work it does a great job. Assetto Corsa is also highly mod-able and has an active community making mods and shit on the forums (which I highly recommend you check out).

Playing assetto corsa since friday with a logitech g27 and absolutely loving it.This game supports mods.I already downloaded several maps and cars of perfect quality and from what I read on the forums and mod homepages the community is working on a lot more free content. Haven't encountered any bugs so far and the game runs perfectly smooth in ultra and supports 144hz monitors. Sadly I can't tell you anything about the online mode since I haven't played that yet.

 

It's still in early access but the current version is a release candidate. So now is the time to jump in because they price will increase quite soon. I bought my key via kinguin and saved some more.

Momo? That is super old. Go for Logitech DFGT IF you cant afford G27 or above that.

Simracing with active online community, i'll go with iRacing and Assetto Corsa.

iRacing will cost alot of money if you serious in advancing your career.

playing assetto corsa too and i just love it!

actually is the cheapest one but is one of the best sim on market right now, iracing for my pocket is really too much...don't to pay more than 100$ per years :/

 

here a simple view on how looks like, just a laps on spa whit a car mod, the audi r8 lms ultra that have an arcade physics but the sound is really amazing, enjoy!
