Free AntiVirus?

Go to solution Solved by MeltingPoint,

Avast + malwarebytes. Its free and they perform very well

I'd recommend malwarebytes, but above all "common sense".

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

I know there are a few good free antivirus softwares you can get online I have just forgotten them all. Anyone have any they use and would recommend?

I'm gonna say the Luke+Linus approved combo of Microsoft security essentials, malwarebytes and superantispyware. If they think this is good enough for their own stuff, then it's probably good enough for you too.

Windows Defender and Malware bytes.

Avast has way to many false positives to recommend on top of that most internet now is about malware not viruses they are around a lot less than years ago.

I just use windows defender since it useless little to no resources and does not screw anything up. Then just become better user of internet and don't go to places your should not be going.
