Good news for Apple people, Firefox is planning to set foot on the iOS devices later next year , The news was officially announced by Firefox release manager Lukas Blakk

“We need to be where our users are,So we’re going to get Firefox on iOS.”

                                                                                                                                                                             -  Lukas Blakk Firefox release manager

Apple has been very restrictive with regard to third-party browser engines on its platform. Current third-party iOS browsers like Chrome or Opera can only operate on iOS because they use Apple’s own JavaScript and rendering engines,

It’s unclear how Mozilla plans to bring Firefox to iOS, but given that Apple isn’t likely to open up its platform for third-party browser engines, it’ll likely have to work with Apple’s technology. With that, it can still support Firefox accounts, its bookmark-syncing tools and all the other features that Firefox for Android currently offers.

Current third-party iOS browsers like Chrome or Opera can only operate on iOS because they use Apple’s own JavaScript and rendering engines, for example or, as in the case of Opera, by rendering sites on a server and then sending them to the device.

Pretty cool news imo , Mozilla's been changing a lot lately , they announced the new partnership with Yahoo & made their search engine as default on later newer versions of firefox, The also changed the layout of the search box making it more easier to navigate,

Please do post your thoughts on this down beloooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeee

Puffin can run flash player, problem? If anything, I'll just replace Safari with it, but that's about it.

It's about time. So long as all of my bookmarks would sync, I'd be happy.

To be fair, Apple just (with iOS 8) allowed 3rd party browsers to have access to their Nitro JS engine, which screams. It's not like using their backend will slow down Firefox.

But, it's funny how last year they refused to release it because Apple was 'too restrictive,' and they wouldn't stand for it.

its not gonna be as fast as safari. apple doesnt allow third parties to use the "Nitro" engine for javascript and stuff, you can enable third party support for nitro with "Nitrous" (i think thats what its called) in cydia if you are jailbroken though

but for the majority of iOS users, sorry keep using safari until apple lets third parties do what they want.

With the release of iOS 8, any app can use the Nitro engine now.
