I'd say the "Best" is one that you build (whether you buy the parts for it from somewhere like ikea or completely build it yourself does not matter) so it fits what you need it to and doesn't have crap where you don't want it to.

Something that I personally love to see in desks is stuff like an outlet on the upper side of the desk near the back so you can plug things such as your monitor(s) into it without having to use up more space in cable routing holes, along with headphone/microphone jacks, and usb ports built into the desk, that way you can easily access them without having to go under your desk or do whatever with your computer to plug something in, and then possibly not have a long enough cord, or who knows what.

(Something I just thought of that would be cool to see, a slot load slim cd/dvd player/burner built into the front of a desk)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

It's difficult to determine what's the best gaming desk for you as compared to anyone else.  The ikea builds are nice for the money.

You could also try building somethign like this:

Or buy a high quality built desk like this...but I can't say that it's any better for gaming.

There is no such thing as a "gaming desk" it's a gimmick.

Go to Ikea, pick a desk with right dimensions that fit in your space and looks nice, and build it.

System: Thinkpad T460

Well, there was the Paradise desk that tried to be one, but I remember reading the quality was not so great. I agree that there isn't really anything that would make a desk a gamer desk.

Go with a desk that feels a right to you. If you want to have a gaming desk, then buy some action figures and put them on it.

I dont have a link to mine but I found it at staples a few years ago and it has a built in shelf thats 12" from the desk so your monitor is raised up quite a but and helps your posture during hours of gaming. the platform is also 14x20 so you can put a TV on it if you want! plenty of space!

get something with a built in monitor raised platform IMO. your back and neck will thank you later!

Ikea's basic desks are pretty cheap and pretty big. It could fit 3 monitors.
