It will be my first time making a gaming rig,you are more than welcome to suggest or change anything.

I do gaming, and will start learning how to make videos and other stuff (frapsing / recording, video editing)

So far i only have the CPU, MOBO, SSD and optical drive.

The rest i can buy anytime since they are all availabe in stores near me but i want to know if its the way to go!

i prefer hydro / liquid cooling over fan for cpu because it looks cleaner for me (but please feel free to suggest other wise)

For the memory not sure if 4x4 will be better than 2x8 for corsair dominator (performance wise)

I think a i5-4670K is a better choice for the processor, the i7 is kinda overkill if you won't use the system in anything CPU intensive.

I think you mean 4690k and OP said he's already bought it.

already bought i7-4790k.

Get cheaper ram and a cheaper OS and use the saved money to get more HDD space.

forgot to mention that  also do want to use dual SLI in the future! and as for the memory ram... well tbh, i was buying them because of the eye candy and 2400 performance.

but what do you guys suggest instead?

Change RAM to something else like veangeance pro or anything cheaper.Dominator platinum is purely overclocking RAM.

Why not Corsair H100i?

750W is overkill.Change to atleast 500W

i want to use dual sli in the future thats why... :(

and i was looking at the h100i, whats the difference between that and h105?

as for ram, like i said the eye candy and 2400 performance.. it just looks damn cool lol. :(

The Mhz for ram doesn't matter at all for gaming or rendering.

I'd go for Kingston HyperX fury or Corsair Vengeance Pro.

And especially if you want to get into video editing, 1TB is way not enough. 1hour of raw 1080p footage is already over 10GB big - for example. Get a WD Green 3TB, they're cheap.

And for god sakes don't pay $200 for OS.

750 be enough for 2 sli? coz i want to eventually use 2

A single 970 uses 150w. 2 would use 300w, add on a i7-4790k and the rest of the system and you've got around an extra 200w. I'd not go less than 650w tbh.

Feel free to use CoolerMaster/NCIX/Newegg or Corair's PSU calculators.

youre right, maybe ill get 2-3tb.

and for OS, i clicked the wrong one :( i can actually buy the windows 8.1 for 84 dollars! sorry about that..

and for the memory, the reason why i chose the dominator is... to be blunt it looks pretty and 2400mhz i heard makes a difference..

2400Mhz is not great. The performance is not notable.Just get something like 1886mhz ram? But if you want aesthetics and want to spend a little extra, then I guess you got denominator going for you.

As for the CPU cooler,I am not really sure but maybe better temp or pump or something.Sorry.

It's pretty - but not worth it IMHO, even as a big corsair fan, I don't use them. They'll look nice in your pictures but they'll perform the same as an 1866Mhz kit of Vengeance Pros / HyperX Furys.

He already has the 4790k and why would you recommend a CPU that is already old and there are news ones that OC way better?

Anyways.

I would recomend the Nepton 280L over the H105.

The RAM is overpriced. Get some Ripjaws X.

And the rest is fine :)

i see you have corsair h105, is it good? or should i try h100i?

and well 750w is just to be safe for me and when/if i overclock everything. having more power than needed

shouldnt harm my rig, i hope?
