Anecdotal at best, the only people I know that use OS X are in IT work and usually in development or IT Management positions. That doesn't mean I stereotype others for not being able to use *nix based systems.

i use linux which is a unix system and its less locked down as mac

Every person I know with an Apple phone has it because they're easy to use and consistent platform wise, or they have way too much money and rich people love apple.

Though some of them have them because they really like technology, but have a skin deep knowledge of it.

Or a few of them are music creators.

The people I know who are more hard-core tech people all have android.
