I was gonna spend my money on this black friday, and my budget is not more that 500$ (not even 50$), I was wondering if I should get a PS4 or a PC. The PS4 has many upcoming exclusives such as uncharted, bloodbourne, and so on, plus console games have the special ability: Optimization by the developers. But while the PC can have the advantage now, I;m doubting about the next few years, since PS3 xbox 360 @60fps ( I mean its a 7 year old hardware), I know your are gonna say it was not 1080p but 480p was gaming back then, when later on they started rendering games in 720p. I want something that can last for at least 6 years, and I have read on 2006 posts that ps3 cannot last year but it did. so yeah I do not want to hear that nonsense, but on the other hand pretty much any GPU is stronger than the PS4, and has an advantage, and if you want to recommend a PC please give the whole pc parts.

Thanks

PC, graphics just looks better overall and you can upgrade in the future. It's also nice because when you are done gaming, you can do all other pc stuff which the PS4 can't do. I'll make a part picker if you want me to, but I'm not the best with budget builds :/

The only reasons consoles last as long as they do is because they are backed by huge companies that have a vested interest in having them last a pre-determined length of time.

If $500 is your budget then get a PS4, if the exclusives you've mentioned interest you then you'll be happy with your purchase.

I used to be a console game for years and switched to PC on March this year, no comparison here .. go with PC. Much better graphics, options and better frames per second.

You can also use the dualshock 4 on your PC by downloading a third party software (DS4Windows)

Make sure you buy a PC that is equally or more powerful than the PS4 to feel the difference.

PS4 is going to be your better over all value by far. PC cant touch a console as far as efficiency solely based on gaming.  In reality a console is a type of PC with a superior OS for gaming.

At your price point you will have a lot of low end components and lets say down the line you want to upgrade to a better gpu...ok now my gpu would work better with a newer cpu...ok...now I am going to need a better power supply...

While you can game on a budget PC it really just isnt all its cracked up to be unless you can max shit out or at least run them on high settings.. unpopular view on this site but just stating my opinion on the matter.

unless you live by a microcenter, and can get a great deal, get the ps4. if you can get a great build, go pc. the problem is, the cost of entry is there. like going up to thousand dollars for example, you will get way more then twice the perfomance. so. go ps4 unless someone here can come up with a great budget build.

This is a great combo.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Wow, I appreciate the attitude

I've been consoling since Sega Genesis and the PS4/Xbox One are the worst consoles EVER. A high-end gaming PC is already double the strength. Back in the day console manufactures subsidized their systems and the developers had time to grow into the new platform and really optimize their toolkit. But with PS4/Xbox One Sony/MS didn't want to take a loss on the hardware so they are selling it close to cost, likewise the consoles are built on AMD PC architecture so they are already super easy to code for. Basically they are soo underpowered that they really aren't worth purchasing.

With that said to really experience the glory of PC gaming you will want a i7 cpu, GTX 970 (or preferably 980) and a 1440p monitor. Together that kind of build will cost at least 1500.

One thing people forget is pc is more expensive in the initial buy but I can pre order triple A titles for the pc for 30 euro's and also games bought via steam are even already 10 euro's/dollars cheaper on release. I didn't even mention the money you can save on steam sales on going on right now. If you dont buy stuff on release just wait for the sales and buy it for 50-75% less, watchdogs is on 50% sale, it is a shit game but still. Also PC has more exclusives then Xbone and PS4 together.

I recommend PC the interaction is way more fun and after playing a game I sitback and enjoy youtube, netflix, anime, browse forums or do home work assignments D:

Dont need a i7 at all to enjoy it and a 970 is more then enough, don't know where you got the fact on the i7 but I smell BS
