PlayStation shows us The PlayRoom trailer on PS4.

zeros

Here is a trailer of a game called The PlayRoom, as we can see on the controller used it's a PS4 exclusive. I think it looks like fun, or at least for me. I think I would play it if I find a friend who buys the PS4 :D (I'm a PC guy)

What are your thoughts about it?

Edit- some more things about this: Sony Official Blog

That's awesome. We're just a few steps more behind an actual hologram.

One thing I did notice was the menu interaction with the touchpad, seems like a nice change, ie if you've ever tried to fast forward with the sticks or triggers........... awful, sliding through multiple sections of the interface.

Well it's not hologram basically you see yourself in the TV and those little cuties next to you. :) Btw, I added a link to an official post on Sony's blog to this.

My thoughts exactly.

If you are interested there is more about the PlayRoom on Sony's official blog, edited the link in, in the first post. :).

Yes, I know. That's why I said "We're just a few steps more behind an actual hologram".

Haha, it'd be a nice timekiller. I'd probably get bored of it after playing with it for a week or something. Nevertheless, it looks great.

I actually knew that you meant there, take my words with a grain of salt :)  but this has nothing to do with holograms. That part is not yet in the gaming zone. But applications like what we saw in the video, well something similar already exists on android. Check it out it's called Augment: 3D Augmented Reality, quite awesome but it drains the battery really fast.

Same here but it would always make it fun to show it to others, even after I would get bored of it.

Didn't the 3DS have this feature first? IIRC.

I don't know but I do remember that Sony already tried this with a game like this on PSP, not sure if it was released or not but it looked pretty awesome :). I think the name of the game was Second Sight but not sure.
