Anyway, I'm sure some, or many people have heard of this new version of Pokemon game - Pokemon X & Y, which will be released on 12 October this year (2013).

It's a total revamp from the past few versions of Pokemon games. Take a look at the gameplay here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmywDbnC5oc

Details were revealed during a special Pokemon press conference at E3 this year, featuring many new features such as a pokemon mount, as well as customizing your character's hairstyle and clothing instead of the fixed, identical looking protagonists.

Other features included are Horde Encounters and Sky Battles that introduces a different combat style, as well as a new type "Fairy" with changes on other Pokemoon types.

Details on new battle styles: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/12/e3-2013-pokemon-x-y-details-revealed

Details on Pokemon type: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-pokemon-x-y-release-date-announced

Another very cool feature is the Player Search System (P.S.S.) function where players can "switch between local wireless communication and full-fledged Internet connectivity with the push of a button".

Details here: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/pokemon-x-and-ys-online-features-feel-like-a-true-evolution/

One question asked on the conference was whether previous generations' Pokemon can be transferred into X&Y. The answer given was "we're working on it", due to problems in communicating data between DS and 3DS. There was a comment saying that there should be a cloud system where Pokemon data could be stored, which I thought would be the best case scenario.

I'm just sad that it's not released on the PC platform, which we know (arguably) is the best.

Does anyone else wish that Pokemon introduced a real-time combat system?  I'm kinda tired of turn-based...

Wishful thinking aside, X and Y look really good!  I probably won't get a 3DS anytime soon, but I'm sure it'll eventually happen.

Dragon is weak to itself and Ice. Dragonite is the ultimate paradox, as it can use both Dragon and Ice moves.

All but 2 dragon lines can learn ice beam/blizzard.

I'm excited for a new type! Fighting has become way to overpowered. I wish they would release a WiiU game that was a different style, keep the handheld games the same, but something to spice things up (Pokemon Snap 2 anyone?)

So does this game make anyone want to but a 3ds? I sure know I do now.

Yer me and a few friends are buying a 3DS soon, just looking to see how the price will continue. Will it continue to go down or suddenly go up for pokemon?

Its kinda hard to tell but I don't think there will be a price cut soon because of how well the 3ds is selling. I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it right?

His typing of dragon/flying makes him so vulnerable though lol I never evolved my Dragonair in the original games because I wanted a pure dragon type

If I were to get a 3DS it would be because of Pokemon. I spent most of my time playing Pokemon on the Nintendo.
Regarding the real-time combat system, it would be really cool, but almost impossible to happen. It would be weird..

Why don't they target the console and PC community? Many of its fans are from that age group who have played it all along. It would be a profitable business.

Word man I been thinking the same thing, plus having to gather up all your old cartridges is a quest in itself!

It'd be cool if they would make it so that a combination of the rain and sun weather conditions would create some sort of rainbow (or double rainbow! haha...ha.......) which would work just as rain for a water type move. Despite the inconvenience of having to use 2 moves to make it rain or let the sun shine, it would still be cool to have such new things implemented in the game and I think they should at least milk it a bit.

Also, isn't this supposed to be in console gaming? Considering the 3DS is a handheld console.

You now breathe manually.
