It looks like it should, judging by relatively same sized ram, but you might need to move the fan to the other side.

This is in fanless mode (which apparently is enough to cool some CPUs) and you can see that the Trident X is barely taller than the bottom of the heatsink. If you can move the fan up a tiny amount, you should be able to fit Dom Plats. If not, you can change the orientation of the fan so it's on the other side

Trident X - 53.51 mm - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/GSkill/F3-1600C7Q-32GTX/4.html

Dom Plat - 54.79mm - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/Dominator_Platinum_2666/4.html

that was really helpful. but i noticed that the top part of trident x is thinner than the flat top of dom plats. would the flat top of the dom plats hit the heatsink?

i also did a bit of google. :D

theres a dude with a build (http://www.funnyjunk.com/Peasants+and+their+fate/funny-pictures/5126387/131)

CPU: i5-4670k

Cooler: Deepcool Lucifer

Mobo: ASUS z87i-pro

RAM: 2*8gb corsair dominator platinum at 1866mghz

GPU: Gigabyte 770 windforce ii 4gb

HDD: WD CB 2tb & 128gb ocz vertex

Case: bitfenix prodigy red

PSU: corsair 800gs

also a review of the lucifer said this "The cooler is very simple to install following the instructions or not, we did notice that there is not much clearance with the memory slots however so low profile memory must be used. We initially tried it with Corsair Dominator Platinum but once it was installed the cooler wouldn’t sit correct."

I think it really ends up depending on you motherboard and how far/close the RAM slots are from the CPU socket. What mobo do you have? Try googling that with dom plats and see if it fits.

If not buying and returning the ram if it doesn't fit is always an option.

Or you can buy some low profile ram, which is tbh what I would do. I mean the ram is not going to be very visible under that giant heat sink so why spend money on dominators? You can get some hyperx or vengeance lp that both are pretty kits, and save money too. And you can be positive that they fit.

im using the Asus B85 Pro Gamer motherboard. returning them is not an option cause im buying it from a person. why im planning to buy the dominator platinum over other ram is because i will be only saving $10 when i buy a different brand/ram. dont be surprised but the price of the dom plats where i live is $162 but i will be getting them for $116. other ram kits costs more or less $105 here.
