Hey everyone,

I just got my R9 280 and I want to crossfire it with my 7950. But is does not seem to benefit. I ran Heaven Benchmark with one card. 924 points. And then with 2 1000 points.

It is enabled in Catalyst.

Does anyone have some tips?

Thanks!

Strange, it should work as a 280x is just a rebranded 7950...

Have you checked your drivers?

I would argue that it's the fault of the differing BIOS. Now I understand that differences in the BIOSes shouldn't account for anything too much usually(I had 560 Ti's that had differing BIOSes but ran fine in SLI). However, they ARE recognized as two different cards. In addition, if I remember correctly, only under specific conditions would CrossFire work with those two cards. You may have to flash the 7950 as a 280 or the 280 as a 7950.
