Hi there,

I went to my buddies house yesterday to have a look at his PC because he says it was running slow, opened it up, and it was basically dust. I cleaned it out and then I saw the parts. Oh god, he bought one of those crappy Dell PCs. I decided that I was going to show him the glory of custom building, so I've decided to build him a PC.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rVnVbv

This is the build right here. Just wondering if this is good or not, I've never used AMD processors and GPUs, I feel like the motherboard isn't that great.

If you have any suggestions/tips about this build please do post them

just what i would personally do with 900 bucks. (give or take)

slash down the case and get a hyper 212 evo for the cooler and you'll be able to get right at the 900 mark not including windows.

You should be, considering this computer won't work. Not enough PCIe slots, PSU is not powerful enough.

Dual R9 270Xes and an FX 6300 on a cheap mATX motherboard isn't recommended in the first place. Let me put something together.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 500GB Crucial P3 Plus, 4TB Silicon Power UD90 | GPU: AsRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Corsair SF850

Main Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | RAM: 64GB (2x32GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 | Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair VII Hero WiFi | Storage: 512GB SKHynix NVMe | GPUs: NVIDIA TITAN Xp 2-way SLI | Cooling: Thermalright Frozen Prism 360mm | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM850

File and Media Server (AOOSTAR WTR Pro): CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Silicon Power DDR4-3200 SODIMMs | Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x14TB Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC530

Now, you see an i3 and an R9 290, and you ask me if I have lost my marbles. But all of my marbles are here intact. Even an i3 is good for gaming at this point, performing as well as the FX 6300 in many titles (of which the price is equivalent to). But here is the key difference. The i3 machine has a valid upgrade path. I like AMD, and for what they do they're great, but there is little to upgrade to from an FX 6300 without spending way too much money on an upgrade. With this machine, if CPU power became an issue, you could always toss in an i5 4690 or Xeon E3 1230v3 or even an i7 4790. With an equivalent-priced and specced AMD setup, you would be looking at an FX 8370 as the max upgrade, because it's likely that the motherboard's power delivery system would be too weak for an FX 9370 or FX 9590, both of which are also power hogs.

You can switch over to an i5 and spend about $35 over the budget, or you can step down to an R9 280X and get an i5/Xeon/i7. Either way, you will have a solid gaming rig. You can even jump over to Team Red, and it's not a bad option. Just making sure all bases are covered.

I kinda phrased that wrong before. What I meant is that I don't need to use PCPP to tell me whether or not everything is compatible. ALSO, my bad, the two graphics card thing was a misclick.

Great build! Would it be okay if I replaced the case with a 350d? My friend just really wants that case.

also the 4130 isnt nearly as much of a poison for gaming as most i3s are.

That will not be a problem :D

I do have a suggestion:

Get a motherboard with a USB 3.0 Header. There are plenty that only cost a few dollars more than the H81ME, and it will allow use of the front USB 3.0 ports on the case at full speed.
