Far Cry 4 Optimization.

So after unity released i dont trust ubisoft at all. ( ~30 fps on everything low ).

So is fc4 optimized good? Maybe somebody played the game with similar specs - R9 270 , FX 8350  what fps do you get?

It uses the same engine as Far Cry 3, but is stretched a little bit more. I ran Far Cry 3 maxed out @1080p, with my ol' AMD Phenom II 965 @4GHz, and an R9 270x fine. You shouldn't have an issue tbh.

It uses the Dunia Engine 2. Same as Far Cry 3. It's just a bit more modified. The higher system requirements are for 2 reasons - the fact that they've stretched the game engine a bit more than last time, and to play it safe so they can patch any performance fuckups.

New drivers are not released yet, there is gonna be a Day 1 Patch and the game is nvidia-optimized. 

I saw someone playing with around 40-90 fps (everything completely maxed out) on a GTX 970 and a 4770K while streaming. 

So it should definitely be playable with the drivers and patch out.

Honestly, I don't think they give two craps about Nvidia either. It's entirely possible to say one thing, and do another. I suppose the benchmarks will tell all though.

He has a 270x, he can Ultra it, without AA (Using SMAA) and no motion blur.

Gets 35-60fps, I asked him to only use SSAO/High levels of Lighting/Shadows instead of the Ultra/Maximums and he got 42-75fps, from a 270x

Pretty swank!

Story is pretty good too, at least the first hour or two I saw.

Will be getting my money thats for sure.

Well i am pretty disappointed that a r9 270 can almost max it out. Why? Because that means the graphics havent changed a lot.

Maxed without MSAA options the 270 does 30+FPS, with 2/4/8xMSAA it tanks, you'll need a better GPU.

 

So yeah, the game should look a LOT better with better GPU's pushing 8xAA, or GPU Control Panel enabled SSAA

Kinda like why Crysis 3 makes my system cry while Crysis 2... not so much

If you go by what the Ubi ex-dev said then if a dev team hasn't kept up to date with the games progress then the game will be released regardless. In other words the game will be buggy as shit, won't look as good as the trailers and will perform badly. The game itslef will probably be really good but will lack content and features due to lack of dev time.

Not sure about this 270 maxing it out at 70fps. I have a 980 at ultra settings and get 60-70

270 maxing it out is a huge crock of shit. (Sorry to whoever posted it does, but...proof plz or GTFO)

The only way a 270 could get 70fps with Ultra, is /w NO-AA and lower than 1080p Resolution MAYBE

 

My 270x with a heavy OC, Ultra /w SMAA @ 1080p gets 35-60fps (40-50AVG)

So that 270 is either not Ultra, or not using 1080p.

Thats it waiting for patches. The fps doesnt even change when i go from ultra to low.
