I tried to warn you :(.

Like I said TotalBiscuit had to run with no AA on a GTX 980 and a 5930k CPU and it still hitched/stuttered lol. His 980 SLI now works, but it still stutters. Ubisoft problem/cpu bound problem. Nvidia patch didn't fix anything. Was more of a SLI fix/DA:I fix and some MFAA for older games on the GTX 970/980.

Y'know, all of these games not hitting 60 on hardware this high end makes me think my PC is knackered

These momentary drops in framerate are a big problem, that's gonna have to be patched.

The game is still predominantly maxing out one core and not balancing the load too much to the others

SLI works for Far Cry 4 and much improves the framerate on max, however the hitching I mentioned still remains

Stable 60 does not exist in this game when you enter a vehicle and look left or right etc. Not on a hexa intel and a GTX 980 and not on my OC 4770k. Every step down on single core performance is gonna be worse. Until this game gets some better threading/core usage? I would not buy it on anything but a overclocked I5, and even then it isn't great.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.
