I second the motion for M50 if you could afford something more expensive I personally find the design of the Sennheiser Momentum delightful.

Ugh m50 is a bad choice. It's just hype. m40x is pretty much the same thing if you really want an Audio Technica. I prefer Sony MDR7506 at that price.

M40X instead, or CHC SIlverado if portable is needed

M40x is a better buy, but if you want something a little more fun, CHC Silverado's are still $50 on amazon

If you will use them in public a lot, I would recommend the crossfades, but if not, go m50 for closed headphones.
