Do you fall asleep when cold?

So a coldfront came through yesterday, and it got down to 30 last night.

 

I normally stay up till 11 or so, but I blacked out at 9.

 

Anyone else experience this kind of stuff?

When you go into hypothemia, you do fall asleep before you die.

it would make sense that you get tired when you are cold. Your body has to use more energi to keep your body warm, when it gets colder.

I get very tired when it's cold outside. I live in Northern Indiana where in the winter it often is about - 20 in the winter. Then add the Lake Effect snow and it's absolutely awful. Welcome to my life man.

I like it really warm when I sleep. I have two big blankets and a throw blanket in my bed. I keep the thermometer at 70. Feels like your in heaven

 

The only problem is when you're trying to wake up and you're too damn cozy

I sleep about 4~5 hours per night on weekdays. Engineering ain't for everybody .

I can sleep like whenever I feel like and however I feel. Don't know if it is a good or a bad thing though

Yah I curl up and sleep. 

Or sorely wish I could. 

Sometimes when I'm luckey enough to be free  on weekends if it's really cold I turn prime 95 on and sleep until my radiator spits out enough heat to make the room much hotter. Love that. 

Of course when it gets really cold I use a space heater sometimes. No way my cpu could heat my room when it's -15F out.

It's an evolution thing, when it gets colder it's generally night, so your body reckons that you should be sleeping if it's night. That's why a cold shower in the morning wakes you up, because after the cold you slowly get warmer. Same goes for a hot bath in the evening.

And hypothermia is not cool (it's bloody freezing until you don't feel cold any more and start seeing stuff)
