evga psu with all amd system compatibility issues?

kainobean

recently i bought a new shiny evga 1200 watt powersupply to go along with my 2 r290x's and fx9590 on a m5a99fx mobo. apon having this psu for a few weeks now i have noticed a few things i felt are a bit odd. i sometimes have random 5volt rail dips all the way down to 2.5 volt. not sure if psu issue when under load or mobo issue with reading proper voltages. and also when playing games my framerate with fluctuate vastly like its revving its engine and while that happens the lights in my room just slightly fliker enough i notice. this system is on a 15amp fuse and when i put my kilowatt up to it it dont draw more than 900watts so its not stressing my electrical grid that hard. so im wondering is it just an issue with evga and amd systems? since evga is a nvida only partner and as far as i have seen only make intel boards... im asking you guys first since i hate calling support centers even though they usualy pretty good. thank you in advanced for any info that can be provided :)

the psu should have 0 idea what cpu or platfrom is running

Have you checked thermals as you system sounds like a space heater

There should be no compatibility issue between a PSU and the rest of the components as long as the connectors are the same.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

A PSU is a PSU, it cannot determine what kind of components are in the system it's powering and the idea that it can is even more stupid than the idea that Intel CPU's don't work with AMD GPU's or AMD CPU's don't work with Nvidia GPU's.

also lol amd fanboy buys all the amd stuff

see thats what i figured and yet all my thermals under load are under 50c on the cpu and under 40c on both gpus. the mobo temps usualy sit around 32c. i have no idea what the vrms are at since there isnt a dedicated temp sensor for them and i wish there was so i could see if those where getting to warm. it only happens under gpu load so i might take appart my gpus and clean them maybe there is something cuasing on the board thats cuasing it.. doubt it but i always check the most unlikely of things at this point when all the likely things look normal...

You should inform evga about this and may give you a solution. Something like this also happened to jay ( I think its this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8FjOX2s4vaY) with his own rig as his motherboard was not compatible with his power supply.

yes i saw that video and thats what gave me the idea that maybe there was some issue with this particular setup and this psu. ill call up their support then and see  what they have to say...
