i will just add some advice to the build posted by rebelattack

1- If you don't plan on overclocking the CPU get a cheaper locked core i5 (i5-4590 for example) and let go the hyper 212, just use stock heatsink.

2- If you don't plan on using dual graphics cards, save some money by going with a MSI Z97 PC mate motherboard instead...and if you go with a locked CPU get the cheapest available H97 chipset motherboard you can find.

3- Memory won't impact gaming performance so go with 8GB as cheap as possible that you can deal with the look...even 1333mhz ram is fine.

4- If you don't plan on going SLI or crossfire you don't need anything more than 500W for your PSU so you could save a bunch while gettting the same quality going with a seasonic 550w gseries or XFX XTR 550W.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 2 VR

i need the unlocked cpu, and I also need the 850 W psu so I can have the freedom to crossfire later

fair enough then...in that case the build he suggested is as good as it gets for the price.

no it's a very good motherboard...only reason to pick something else would be for color and look...maybe look at the MSI gaming series motherboards (gaming 5 or Z97-G45 gaming) if you want better looking board at still reasonable price.
