Yeah, but I'd go Haswell coz better graphics rly. You never know how intensive Windows 10 will be.

Windows 10 (TP I know) runs smoothly on my Core 2 Quad and GT610 :P

Can't imagine that a Core i3 and 4GB of RAM won't be enough to run an OS....

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

No point in spending money on something which is already 2 years old unless it's a good second hand deal.

Compatible with Windows 95

I don't know what your Mom does, but a Core i3 should be plenty for web browsing and using Office or programs like that.

And you don't care about your mother enough to build something like this:

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor  (£47.98 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: MSI H81I Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£45.44 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£28.19 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Silverstone PS07B MicroATX Mini Tower Case  (£62.66 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  (£30.92 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £259.44

?

(Question... if you put Ubuntu on a pc owned by someone who already has no idea how to use Windows... will they even notice, let alone care? All they do is browse the Internet and write angry letters on... could they even tell OpenOffice Writer apart from Word?)

With a GPU, the Core i3 is a actually a very capable gaming CPU. If you don't want an FX-6300, then a Core i3 is not a bad choice.
