I used Mayhems Pastel and changed to Distilled water after a few months.

Pretty much everyone on this forum has

 

I saw it at a professional £10,000+ version tech show.

 

It was made so water spilled over the top of the tank and poured evenly down the sides into a container underneath that had a massive cooling system. It looked amazing and was incidentally the size of a cupboard.
