He said he was going to be doing 90% gaming, what if down the line he wants to video edit+ do other things with his computer? What if games are optimized to take advantage of those things? If he wants a system that'll do things for three years, and has a high budget, he should splurdge and make sure things last a little longer

The rog boards are much cheaper on the AMD side for pretty much the same features *hint, hint*.

The fact that you insist on being right shows somethings wrong with your self esteem. get over yourself and start suggesting things to the person that wants help instead of continuing to disagree with me to try and get a gold star next to your name in the troll chart.

I don't really like red colored things, only reason I got a rampage iv extreme was because they didn't have a gigabyte sniper when I went into the store to buy all my parts :(

Doesn't matter, dolar is right, and you can't deny it.  You're essentially encouraging the OP to blow another $100 that can go into other parts, or better yet, back into the OPs pocket for things outside of the computer hardware world.

Yeah, I get what you mean. But I guess making MB with different colors wouldn't really match with the other existing stuff. There should really be pink/purple boards and a LOT more of monochrome parts. That would be great. But sadly, manufacturers still answer to the general demand, most of which doesn't give a s*** about looks :( *übersadface*

i'm actually not trolling , i'm spreading my knowledge across the internet.

i don't need to insist on been right , i already know that i am and i don't mind showing to people that they're wrong.

you on the other hand are trying to waste 100$ in op's pockets and aren't able to justify it.

if you were confident , you would be able to defend your point without getting yourself in a bad position that's hard to argue.

Also, Dual channel RAM. Quad channel will be terrible for upgrading/performance. Plus, you have a bigger risk of doa sticks.

For starters, since you're loaded, you can pick the 3960X over the 3820.

 

Since you're even more loaded, pick up a some 690s and Quad-SLI them.

 

And what I built you will last you for 3 years.  Even an i5-2500k build will last you for 3 years.

The more video cards you add...the more latency you will introduce.
