Quick Question about RAM heat spreader

Note: Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

So I posted the other day as i was worried the CM 212 evo wouldn't have enough clearance from the RAM's heat spreader.

Anyway if that is the case, could i just take the heat spreader off without any problems?

Thanks in advance

You probably don't want to. Sure, It wont matter, but you can just stick the fan on the other side of the cooler rather than messing with the ram?

OK thanks, so have the fan exhaust air out the back of the case?

i installed a 212 in my friends system and the fan was in the way. you can simply move the fan up on that side a bit so the ram can fit under it. you lose around 1cm of fan on the heatsink but it wont change much.

if you are using 1 fan only do what d3sl91 said and put it in pull config

Yea you can usually remove heatsinks from ram.

I advise just moving the fan on the 212 though

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
