So my hard drive is full of spyware and I want to format that hard drive. Now I want to know if it will also delete Windows 8.

I have an additional storage which is named 'Data'; is Windows located there ?

Also how van I format my hard drive without deleting an antivirus ( bitdefender)

Thx for answering !

So your HDD is partioned in a C: drive and D: drive? Or is "Data" just a folder on the C: drive?

I believe you can just format one partition, but the spyware is probably also installed on the C: partition, where Windows is installed too.

If your formating you hard drive... You formatting your hard drive therefor loosing everything on that drive. Id recommend just re installing everything... Feels nice.

if something gets to be a real pest I just prefer to reformat but OP have you run anti-virus/anti-spyware software in safe mode + no internet connection?  If not try that first before reformatting.

i would recomend that you bite the bullet and do a factory reset and restore, you dont want to risk there being spyware still in C:

If your system is full of spyware, there is a possibility it's affected the windows files. If you were to format the D: partition, it might not completely fix your problem.

You could either do a full factory reset, or completely wipe the OS and start fresh.
