I need help on building a new PC

iAmAnnon

I feel extremely dumb posting here, but I've only bought pre-built pc's my whole life. Recently, I've been getting mad at the options I have, and I have decided to attempt to build a computer. As I am very new to this, I've done as much research as I could, and I'm still very lost on what to get. So, me being incapable of figuring out anything by myself, a friend recommended me here.

So, what I'm looking for is the most bang for my buck (gaming wise) for a new PC. I have roughly $1k, but as I said before, I've only bought prebuilt PCs so thats my budget for everything, including case, monitor, boot disk, etc. So, I was wondering if you guys could help, I really don't need exact parts, but if you could do that it'll be great, but if anything please just point me in the right direction. As I am new to this, I don't know everything, but I'm relativly sure I've got the basics. Thanks in advanced.

If you are going for bang to buck I would recommend AMD becuase they have pretty decent CPUs for much better perf to $ than intel, and their GPUs have gone down a bunch because of NVIDIA

I would not recommend a cpu cooler. Stock cooler will work just fine, no problem... unless you're doing ultra extreme overclocking which i assume you're not.

for $30 youre better off saving yourself the hassle and getting the aftermarket cooler.

That sucks because I'm not over-stressing my system and it will last longer than yours? I still get same performance though because there are other bottlenecks.... You should not push the processor that much when it's really not needed.

Hey guys, back again to bother you again.

Upon researching the PSU, it seems to not be the most, ugh, reliable piece of equipment, any alternatives?

What's your price limit for it>?

Try finding this one:

650W Seasonic X series 80+ Gold

I'm using it and so far so good, I'm happy about it and I haven't heard anything bad about this PSU from others.

Hey guys, upon insight from some IRL friends and tons of research, I have re-done my parts list.

It isn't quite as beefy as before, but I made sure its improvable.

Its here:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PkF4Jx

Mostly red/black theme, wanted to do black/orange but wasn't any nicely themed parts.

I'm relatively sure theres no compatibility issues, but if there is any let me know. Feel free to let me know of you think I have made any rash choices, or just recommendations. Thanks in advanced.
