I was running my computer on a box beside my desk with no case on it, and when I O.C'ed my 5820k and ran prime95 for 12 hours it didn't get any hotter than 64 degrees. I managed to get it to 4.3GHz without touching the voltage at all.  I got my case today, and while playing BF4 I noticed it got up to 82 degrees. Should I back my O.C. down a few notches? Or will it make much of a difference? I REALLY don't wanna burn out the first truly beastly computer I've ever owned.

I'd say bring back the OC just a bit if you'r ereallly worried. But it should be fine. Depending on your cooling setup.

Love the Profile Pic by the way. Avenged is my favorite band, Was my first concert.

whats your cooling setup?

and gpu heat was probably causeing higher cpu heat.

And nah 82 is fine

Kraken x61, but only with one fan cause I kinda had to rig it in there, the Phantom doesn't technically support the x61.
