tri sli 980's. Quad sli might give you more power but you would need a certain type of processor and motherboard to provide pci lanes and quad sli is known to give horrible results as in hitching and stutter even if the frames per second tend to average higher.

With SLI scaling beyond two GPUs being absolutely terrible, I wouldn't do anything more than two GTX 980s (8 GB vram). With 3-4 GPUs, there is generally little or no performance improvement, and in some games there will actually be worse performance.. Micro-stuttering becomes even worse of a problem with more than two GPUs, so any slight framerate increase is immediately offset by frametime issues.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Well i technically have unlimited funds but am going 980 SLi @ 1440p as who the hell needs 4k?

 

I like high FPS in all games rather than "only just playable"
