2 way SLI 980 or 2 way SLI 780 TI?

Basically the title. I'm wanting to build a PC but come to a rut in the road. The 980 is a good card, low power consumption, those new features it comes with and all that, plus it's the new series from nvidia. But they're 500$ or so each card. The 780 TIs are still reliable cards, fast, old but gold in my opinion. They're only around 380$ [with promo codes]. I really dont mind the draw power of the cards, the only thing that makes me fight between the two is that I wont have the features of the 980s, or the 980s at all, but I also will get similar horse power from the older generation 780 TI. 

TL;DR I want SLI but dont know what series I want. Spend the extra cash for the 980s or save some for the 780 TIs?

Just spend the extra cash and get the 980's

980s, more vram, important for the res when you have that much horse power.

With time 980 will pay off more

 

But you should maybe wait up because 980 is geting 8gb upragade so watch out for that.

Well the intentional thing was to make a PC with a 2800$ budget, that includes everything from headphones to fans etc. So I might go with the 780 TIs. Thanks for the help mate! :D

 

If you plan on anything higher then 1080p Ultra; go with the 980's if not, stick with the 780ti's
