Why? Just carry a mechanical keyboard and a monitor with you. No biggie :P

as I see it, the monitor is build into the top half of the briefcase.

Just updated the post with  some more recent photos, I'm mounting it externally so I have more room for cooling :D

The prototype steambox was a 4770k and 780 IIRC and used a 450W PSU. For a month or so I had my 3570k and 780 running on a 450w SFX PSU... you'll be just fine throwing a 780 in there with a 550 as long as it is a quality PSU, just don't OC it too far.

Get a Kill-A-Watt for $20 and you can OC until it is using about 600W from the wall under full load and you'll still have some padding in there. PSUs output their rated capacity, so you can use the efficiency of the PSU to see how much that would be pulling from the wall. A 80+ bronze 550W PSU at full load would be pulling a bit less than 700w from the wall, to be safe you want to be 100w or so under that.

I've always wanted to make one of these and had a few ideas to throw your way:

I'd go with a PCIe riser like this: https://buyahash.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/UNpowered-Riser-2.jpg

Then you can mount the card parallel to the motherboard to save in height, as well as support the card all the way around without worrying about breaking the PCIe connector. Since it is something that will be bumped around a lot I could see if breaking the PCB over time.

And for a monitor you could go with a laptop panel embedded into the lid, and run it off of a LVDS converter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111115624120?lpid=82

It shouldn't be too hard to come up with a way to mount it to the lid and have a tilt mount incorporated. If you had the space you could even put a small full motion monitor mount in there so you could pull it out towards you, then use velcro straps to strap it back into the lid while transporting it. I recently bought this one, and the quality is surprisingly good for the price, plus when folded all the way in it only sticks out about an inch and a half from the wall: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ID7QNI

If you went with the full motion mount you would leave the lid open while using it which would help with airflow.

Thanks man that's a lot of helpful stuff, I'll see if I can get any of the items locally (No way of really paying online+Don't enjoy waiting for parts) with the monitor for the laptop I would go for it but don't have any spare lap tops around and getting the screen ain't easy.

My current build is to have the monitor detach from the stand and then using a hook mechanism attach externally.

Ooohh that case xD. and I saw that psu it was a bit  much for me (Budget at time and wanted to get a good quality cpu and a tough psu).

My current fella is pretty good (Though the 600watt little one would be good for size >_>) I might dupe for it later down on the road :D

A i5 4690k would be exceptional for the use of gaming, and have you tried these for aircooling?

The stock fan should work for now as I'm not really going to over clock because of portability and I looking at getting some silent noctua fans on order to cool the rig :)

These are the best/quietest fans out there: http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-GentleTyphoon-D1225C12B5AP-15-120mm-Silent/dp/B001Q6RUVO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415083894&sr=8-1&keywords=gentle+typhoon

Second best: http://www.amazon.com/Be-Quiet-1000RPM-60-4CFM-16-4DBA/dp/B00AKO0GRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415083508&sr=8-1&keywords=be+quiet+silent+wings+2

The Silent wings 2 are 140mm and the gentle typhoons are the quietest yet the noctuas are damn good but I just dont personally like the tan and brown on the noctuas, but if it doesnt matter, the noctuas do cost less for what you get ^_^
