[Client Build] Reactor Core V1

Hello everyone! I’m back with another client build. This one took quite a bit of time to get everything just right and the client is absolutely happy with it. I called it the Reactor Core because of the GPU Reactor on the 780 Lightning and well, it’s in a Core V1. It’s probably one of my best builds around due to the fact that it’s well within budget, extremely quiet and quite powerful! I went with PET sleeving here just because I wanted to try something new as it’s not my usual paracord sleeving. Anyways, I hope you guys like this build. I had a lot of fun putting it together. It’s extremely satisfying to take all these measurements and build planning, and then when parts arrive everything fits perfectly.

My Case review is up! Please be sure to read it to understand why I absolutely loved working with it.

Very well done.

Thought the GPU stuck out half way through the case mid-way through the post but then realised the front cover was off. :P

Nice build. Personally not a fan of the case, but that's subjective.

Great build all around, gonna be great for your client.

I can also respect those high quality pics.

One question though: Why the RM PSU?

Why not? It is a perfectly capable PSU. But a very nice build. How are the temps?

That's a pretty dense machine! Sweet!

Thank you! I worked quite hard to get the aesthetics down and even had to work through a couple of re-fills due to a dead pump. All in all, the client's face when he first saw it and how much he lit up was very much worth all the trouble.

The case itself is absolutely amazing. I've just written a review for it and I'll post the link up soon to my website. You may not like its front design but it's all fully functional and how well it integrates with the case is why it's so good. I personally don't like the front but I can't deny its functionality.

Why not the RM PSU? It's one of the best PSU lines I've ever used. I love the RM line since I'm a custom sleever, I do many full PSU builds. This line has a small amount of 2:1 wires which means less work and time spent for me! Time is money friend!

Sorry guys, didn't get a chance to install Windows on it but the client stated that temps are nominal thanks to the thickness of that radiator. I absolutely looooove Alphacool radiators. Their build quality and attention to detail is incredible and I will personally be using them in my future builds.

I would like Alphacool/Phobya rads a lot more if they were cleaned properly in the factory. And yeah, the RM series have great cables to sleeve. The 24pin one just iinda flips from one end to the other, thus easy to sleeve.

When I saw the internal shots I was like "yikes! Only a single (albeit thick) 140mm rad??? That seems to be pushing it reeeeeal close"

But, if the client says temps are fine fine, then I guess it's fine. Cool build overall.

I want to love this case but the biggest feature they brag about... the interchangable sides and custimazation... and has yet to become a reality because i still cant find replacement side panels with windows for purchase. I dont see much point in a site selling this case and not stocking its no.1 touted feature.. the different side panels.

Awesome build. Love these tiny builds with water cooling in them. Love your work. How hard was it to build in though? Must have been a pain in the butt.

You know, I wish I could get more sides. I'd love it if I was able to get at least one more window panel to put on the GPU side. It'd look quite nice.

I love the build quality overall, but one question... why isn't there a pump installed?

The pump is actually built into the CPU block so when the water from the reservoir end tank drips into it, it pushes all the water into the gpu and back into the radiator. It's a great design that gets rid of an external reservoir and keeps the loop simple.

Thank you! It was definitely a pain in the butt, until I realized how amazing the Alphacool radiator was. When I installed the radiator with the custom cables in there, I heard it scrape against the rad fins and I cringed so hard. I got scared and inspected the radiator. I found it 100% intact and was surprised! Anyways, you can read about my entire build process at my site to get an idea of exactly how much of a pain it was, heh.

I actually really like that case. Nice work getting all that crammed in there so neatly. How are the temps with the single rad?

Finally got some Temp numbers in!
