Well I guess not everyone can get a hold of it, but you can have shipping.

I actually live near a micro center, but im kind of hesitate for getting a i7 4790k. Will it be more future proofing? And how good are the i7 4790k deals @ micro center black friday and cyber monday? Asking this cause ima go with an m-atx build and probably getting a 970 or 290x , good bang for bucks and then two way sli, using it effectively for 3-4 years easily.

There is no such thing as future proof at all. Build a computer for now, not for the future.

I would get an i5 not an i7 for gaming. It will age exactly the same. You will really get nothing out of the i7 in gaming performance over the i5.

i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz | Zalman cnps9900-MAX | MSI Z77A-GD65 GAMING | 16gb G.Skill | 1600mhz | 2x EVGA GTX660 TI SC in SLI | Antec HCG 750 | Corsair 300R | Win 8.1pro

Well if you are only going to game i5 is enough but if you can get a hold of that sales cut then it'll be a really nice feature to have in your system. There is no absolute future proof but you may be eligible to have the raw power for more demanding and intensive threaded application. Also, the upcoming directx 12 api and most new games will start to utilize more threaded cores. So per say i7 is quite nice to have. That leaves you room to work on other stuff other than game. But this is all considered because in microcenter they have it at such price and it's a no-brainer to grab it.

Well I am not sure if in blackfriday the price will go even down, not sure about that. It could be but it could raise. Again, 270 for 4790k is rare for Intel .

4790k is all around better, if you over clock the i5 then it can be near the 4790ks performance but you can then overclock the i7 so the 4790k is great for everything especially gaming.

Show me a benchmark where the i7 give any substantial performance over the i5. You can't.

Plain and simple, get the i5. It will last just as long as the i7 and perform the same in games.

The 4790k can be overclocked better than the i5 "Plain and simple but either way 4790k overclocking or not thats the better choice

It really is not the better choice. It costs more, gives no real better performance.

Show me that benchmark.

Crucial is great. Avexir is fine too. In all honestly all RAM is basically the same quality because the core components all come form one or two factories in Asia.

Get whatever is cheapest.

The RAM is fine quality. Same as everything else out there. The LEDs are for show.

I do not know any LED RAM. Personally I think it looks tacky. Not something I would buy.

If you get get the HyperX at the same price as 1600mhz of something else then fine, but I see ZERO reason to pay a premium for somehting that will not give any performance benefit.

Fine RAM, just nothing special.

Aren't games starting to be multi threaded? Wouldn't this mean that having more cores would be effectively better for gaming?

So even if in the event that for the 4790k the price of the i7 dips below lets say 250? Would you even consider shelling out that extra $50 for lets say more cores and arguably more OC? i5's start at 3.5 and like 3.7 turbo? 3.8? Dont remember but i7 is 4.0 base and 4.4 turbo. I understand that theres no such thing as future proofing but if its really in that 50 range wouldnt it be better? also reference to your Direct 12, more threaded cores means that a i7 would perform better or would the i5's cores still be enough?

Yes, yes, and yes, I'll get the 4790k. I mean I can buy it for a big $90 less off the reference price, that for me a ice breaker.

ram 1866mhz (same price of other speed aslo 2400mhz but i see that 1866 in some test are better) between vengeance, vengeance pro, hyper-x fury or savage ( i don't understand the difference), g-skill ripjaws

What about motherboards? i know that a z97-a its a good choice but i with a h440 black/red a gaming mb it's too cool

The motherboard doesn't really affect performance unless you're doing extreme oc'ing. The ram also doesn't affect gaming much.

If you don't need any special features, pretty much any z97 motherboard will do.
