How to protect yourself from Malwares

Codes that cause damage on your system

There are malwares, spywares, viruses, adware, trojan, worm and maybe others. All of this cause damage on your system. Some of them can reproduce themself. There are different types of viruses. You can read all of them if you just search in google. :)

How to protect your system

Be careful with .exe (executable) files. Most of the viruses (100% in my experience) are in .exe file. So becareful with this. Don't download from unofficial sites. Your antivirus won't detect the virus if it's encrypted or/and binded to other files. When the virus is binded to other files it make 2 programs in 1 file. So you still can install the program, but you can get the virus too.

Browsing

Be careful while you are browsing. I recommend you to install Adblock, Better Privacy, Ghostery etc. addons for safety browsing. Update your browser always to the latest version and disable java (the newest browsers disable it automaticaly, because the exploit). Also if you use firefox you can enable master password to prevent password stealers.

Keep your system up

Always update your OS. I recommend the following programs for security:

  • Malwarebytes for system cleanup;
  • ThreatFire or Key Scrambler to keep your password and stuff encrypted;
  • Browse with Firefox or Chrome.

If you think any file is virus you can test it in sandbox. :)

That's a short "guide" how to prevent your system from getting viruses and bad stuff. I can go deep in this, but I want to keep it short. You can search in google for more information.

I'm going to send this to all my not-so-computer-savvy friends.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I recommend you add web of trust, it doesnt add any protection, simply allows people to rate sites and ones that are flagged show a warning before entered, it helps a lot against screamer sites.

I don't know about WoT and didn't use, so I can't recommend it. If you want to become more "deep" (it's fuckin 1% of the security) just search in the google. This is the basics. I mean everyone need to know this stuff.

ADBlock is maybe one of the great things. No pop-ups, fake links and other bs. I know you don't watch ads in YT but u can disable it for sites which you want to support.
