I just spent 3,000 on my frist pc. What's some good games to throw at this beast!

Bigsky108

I'm waiting to get it put together as soon as my last parts come in the mail. I'm just wondering what some good games are to put this new rig to the test.

I've never experienced pc gaming at a high end level and was wondering what some hot titles would be to order?

P.s my gpu is in transit, it's not too late for me to switch from my gigabyte g1 gtx970 to a 980, but is it really worth it?

Thanks for the help guys!

How did you spend 3 K on a PC with it only having a single 970? Also Crysis 3 looks great. so does Metro Lastlight, also Far Cry 3 is very pretty and another IMHO very interessting title (even tho not actually that great looking) is Shadow of Modor.

Play Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light Redux i loved both games especially the atmosphere in them. And with Advanced Physx on it gets even better.

I had to buy a monitor, mouse, keyboard, the whole pc etc, maybe it ended up being 2800 or so. All the stuff starting from scratch adds up real quick. I didn't go pre built and it's not x99. I'm sure I'll buy a matching 970 if my current one doesn't handle 1440p well enough. Thanks for the honest mentions for games.

Can you tell me the price you paid for each part? I'm interested as to how you only have a single 970 for a 3k build.

Intel i7 4790k / MSI Z97M / Hyper 212 Evo / MSI Twin Frozr GTX 770 / 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz / Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 / Corsair CS750M / Samsung 840 Evo 250gb SSD /  WD Blue 1TB

I'll write up a list when I get off work and have the time. Maybe I went over board on some parts, but I work hard for my money and decided to buy my Christmas gift early. Parts like the 5 noctua fans costed me 175 alone. I'm not trying to prove a point here, I simply just wanted some recommendations on good games to try out.
