Posted November 1, 2014 Hello all! I am wondering if i should wait for broadwell chips, instead of ordering all my parts right now. Will it be worth the wait (i have no idea the realease date/ benifts of the new chip set ). I found this monitor intead of the one in my build which is on sale until nov 5: http://www.ncix.com/detail/samsung-s24d590pl-23-6in-widescreen-pls-c9-95680-1457.htm . Should I buy the build i have so far? just the monitor now? or wait to buy it all together? Posted November 1, 2014 No reasons to wait broadwell is a die shrink performance will most likely be VERY similar to haswell if not the same...power consumption will be improved somewhat but IMHO its really not worth the wait. | CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING | CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 | | GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC | RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz | | Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 2 VR
 Posted November 1, 2014 I personally wouldn't build that rig. You are spending too much money on 23" 1080p rig. For reference this is the PC I just built. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3ctv23 Atleast get the Qnix Pixel Perfect Samsung PLS monitor for 350 on eBay and work around getting a 1440p rig running. With that said if you don't need a new PC now I would wait until mid next year and to see if skylake gets released or delayed.
 Posted November 1, 2014 always build a comp with a good monitor,if only using 1080p for averge gaming, gtx 760 or 960(future) or r9270x, 280 is more than enough
Posted November 1, 2014 If you starting waiting, their will always be an upgrade within the next 6-12months...Get a solid build now and be happy it will last awhile @syrazpc - for all my rambles about PC's -- My Gallifreyan Build In Progress
