how much am i pulling?

i have a 4690k oc to 4.5 and a sapphire 280x tri x, and too lazy to buy wattage counter/meter 

around 500w at full load if the 280x is also oc'd

Does it really matter?

 

Probably somewhere around 500w.

thinking of getting new psu, i just have a 630wat when i built my computer just to be safe now buying a better psu

 

Your 630W psu should be fine unless you plan to add a 2nd GPU or something.

 

I'd keep the new PSU to 650W or higher.

What are you guys smoking, it's more like 400watts NOWHERE NEAR 500.

A decent 550w is already more than enough. 

400 watts maximum

^ around ~400w more or less at most.

You are looking at 400W - 450W from the wall.

My power hungry FX-8350 @ 4.8GHz and one overclocked Sapphire HD 7970 (AKA R9-280X) pulls a max of ~541W from the wall socket. Using a 80 PLUS Bronze PSU,that equates to about 460W from the PSU.

All you really need is a well built 500W - 550W. Even if you decide to overclock.
