Why no 24" 1440p monitors?

Could I have a link to the thread? I can't seem to find it

Is there a reason why 2560x1440 monitors don't come at a size of 24 inches? 27 inches is too large for my desk with stuff laying around on it. Is 27 inches the industry standard?

All the parts are here, just need to get customized cords to connect the motherboard to the front panel.

Pretty sure it's a pixel density thing to do with the panels. I think benq was making one though.

It's not a standard, but just a convenient size for the panel manufacturer to produce. Also, 24'' at 1440p might sound very nice because of the high pixel density, but I'm absolutely certain that you would have a hard time reading anything without any additional scaling (which still sucks in windows).

Not high enough demand.  The panels themselves are only produced by a small selection of companies (LG mainly, as well as Samsung and a few others) and all monitor vendors like Dell, BenQ, ASUS, etc. all order their panels from the same places and can pick from what those few manufacturers have in their catalog so to speak.  27" is all that LG and Samsung have done so far, so 27" it is, all around.  2560x1440 doesn't have high enough sales volume to warrant multiple implementations of it in different sizes, or so it has been up to this point.

However, on that note: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/239772-dell-u2515h-a-25-1440p-monitor/

EDIT: It has nothing to do with pixel density, all those 28" 4K monitors floating around have higher pixel density than 24" 1440p, and Dell even has a 24" 4K monitor out.

too high density ATM but 4 k at 24 will probably be a thing at some point

1440p = no DSR

24" 1080p G-Sync 144hz 1ms is the sweet spot !! if you want high frames in new games and DSR for older games!!!

Benq is making one I believe. I can't for the life of me remember the name though. I think there is a thread in the Tech news section.

144Hz is BS, I really wish I had gone for a 1440p monitor.

Yeah I tried finding but I don't know where it went, maybe I was confusing it with the dell one but I'm pretty sure I remember it being a benq 24inch 1440p.
