1440p monitor vs 3 1080p monitors?

What's the best monitor setup given the circumstances that 3 1080p IPS monitors are almost at the same price bracket as a single 1440p IPS monitor?

For what use? Gaming or working? For gaming I would go with the 1440p since it would be easier to run than 3 1080p monitors and I don't find multi-monitor setups to be useful for gaming. For working I would say 3 1080p monitors easy. I couldn't imagine coding on only 1 screen.

I feel like your getting more value for 3 x 1080p. Unless you just do gaming it can be really useful in multitasking(it's still really good in gaming though with that massive pov). At the current moment I have 2 x 1080p monitors but I should be getting a 3rd soon.

I love my 27" 1440p monitor for gaming, and I currently use a random 19" acer widescreen monitor I have lyring around to do second monitor duties, perhaps displaying a YouTube video, my music, or for a map in battlefield

If you still have a 900p or 1080p monitor then get the 1440p monitor. Asymmetrical multi-monitor setups always worked really well for me, and a single 1440p monitor is awesome for gaming as well.

That's what I'm thinking at the moment.

It really depends. For me, I do a lot of here in there. Sometimes gaming, sometimes browsing, ect. So I would go for the 3 x 1080p, however if you use your pc 70%+ of the time gaming then a 1440p monitor is the answer without even thinking.

Also make sure that your gpu could handle 1440p if you're thinking about that option. 1440p can put down quite a bit on performance especially if you want to get another one in the future.

I would rather get a 144Hz 1080p. G-sync in 1080p isn't worth it IMO.

G-sync 1080p 144hz 1ms is the sweet spot!! 

 

 

G-sync is worth it!!! if you like FPS and Racing games.

 

 

 

1080p = Higher fps and DSR

 

1440p = Less fps and no DSR

Get a 27 Inch 1440p PLS Monitor for 300USD + Free shipping..QNIX 2710 (I own one myself it's incredibly gorgeous and got mine clocked @120hz)

There are a shit load of reviews for this monitor and i thought it would be too good to be true, nevertheless i bought one and was absolutely blown away by the color quality of this monitor. + You can clock it to a 120HZ..

Also if you buy one, be sure to buy the single input monitor with Dual link dvi only, else you will not be able to overclock your monitor.

 

Btw: YouTube video's don't do this monitors color quality justice. I can tell you that.

I have 3 x 1080p monitors and it's amazing for doing work. Surround gaming lost it's appeal so I just game on the center monitor now.
