Entry level enthusiast IEMs. Which one to chose for Black Friday?

ycz(08)

Or earbuds, in ear monitors, earphones.

Hello all,

So I've researching quite a lot about this topic and have reached to the conclusion that the top brands in this market are Ultimate Ears (owned by Logitech now), Westone, JH Audio and Shure.

The difficult thing is, since these companies sell only top of the top in terms of in ear monitors and their target audience are Artists (with big budget) then its very difficult to find reviews.

I would like you guys, if you can contribute with your own experience if you happen to own any of these earphones or if you can link me a reputable source that has a review.

I'm right now between the Shure SE215, Shure SE 425 (only if for Black Friday their price comes down below $200) and these Audio-Tecnica's IEMs: The ATH IM50 Dual Dynamic Neodymium drivers and the ATH IM02 Dual Balanced Armature drivers.

I've opened a poll, your opinions are very much appreciated.

if you vote and also post why you voted for the selected IEM, it will be great

There's no such thing as " the best" in high-end audio. Everything sacrifices something, though they should be outstanding in every regard compared to cheap stuff.

Personally, I want UE's "custom" CIEM where they send you an EQ rig to get the sound signature you prefer.

Sure, but I did not say "the best" but "best" ; as to refer to those IEMs in the top of the list compared to the rest.

Of course audio quality is very subjective and at the end of the day it's the user experience what matters :)

I would honestly recommend getting the customs, I've heard they're wayyy more comfortable (seeing as they're made for your ears lol)

I myself will probably get a pair of custom's some day.

Check out other CIEM makes like cosmicears, and 1964 ears, unique melody.

Just found theses:

The ATH IM50 are Dual Dynamic Neodymium drivers and the ATH IM02 are Dual Balanced Armature drivers.

I'm right now between the Shure SE215, Shure SE 425 (only if for Black Friday their price comes down below $200) and these Audio-Tecnica's IEMs. I cannot find much information regarding the Audio-Tecnica's IEMs; for the Shures, I've read a lot possitive reviews...well to say a lot is an understatement, almost 99% of the reviews praise their sound quality.

The reason I'm interested in the Audio-Tecnica's IEMs is because my ATH M50 turned out great (not mind blowing as some reviews put it, but still the best headphone I've had so far...and I've had my fair share of experience with headphones).
