Why not?   :o

Don't forget it needs to include CPU AND Mobo!

Combo

IT's just 1$ over but it looks good!

I'd rather have him wait a few more weeks or so and get an i5.

i5 4460 and a z97 board. Asus Z97-A?

i have a 30$ new egg gift card so that would make the difference between an i5 4460 and an i5 4570 10$ is the difference worth 10$? and asus z97-a is too much plus arent 4460 and 4570 locked cores making z97 OCing useless?

Reasons that only biased people will tell you.

i actually did just notice that the amd one did have a faster core speed

intel is better ive heard

Intel is better for gaming.  You should not buy any case fans.  Case fans can easily be added to your build as you get more money.  Core components, not so much.

Buy an i5 for gaming.  It is the best gaming processor.  Even a locked i5 > massively overclocked FX8.

Benchmarks:

http://www.hardcoreware.net/intel-core-i3-4340-review/2/

http://www.hardwarepal.com/best-cpu-gaming-9-processors-8-games-tested/4/

http://www.anandtech.com/show/8427/amd-fx-8370e-cpu-review-vishera-95w/3

"To put it nicely, the FX-8370E is a true middle-of-the-road CPU. Using it only makes sense as long as the graphics card you choose comes from a similar performance segment.

Depending on the game in question, AMD’s new processor has the potential to keep you happy around the AMD Radeon R9 270X/285 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or 660 Ti level.

A higher- or even high-end graphics card doesn’t make sense, as pairing it with AMD's FX-8370E simply limits the card's potential."

-Tom's

"The FX-8370E stretches its legs a little in terms of minimum frame rates, particularly in SLI, however it is handily beaten by the i3-4330."

-Anandtech

When an i3 is beating an FX8, thats about the time that you don't consider an FX processor for gaming.

Will be better for gaming than any FX processor.  Buy quality core components now, add fans later.

The core i5-4570 will work in any socket 1150 motherboard without requiring a bios update, it is also a superior CPU to the i5-4460, i'd go with that and the MSI Z87 PC MATE motherboard i suggested if possible.

Nope, no BIOS update required.  As long as you get the i5-4570 processor you won't need to BIOS update.  Also, I just saw a fantastic deal that you might want to consider, the MSI Z87 G41-PC Mate on Newegg for ~$50.  It will match your blue RAM very well, also comes with a few extra features, and still no BIOS update required.  I don't know if you're interested in overclocking or not, but that is a Z series motherboard, so that means if you buy an unlocked(k) processor, you will be able to overclock it easily.  This is not required for gaming, and only a few games will benefit from overclocking the Intel processors.  If you do decide to spend a little more for an unlocked processor, make sure it is the i5-4670k.  Not the i5-4690k.  The i5-4690k will not be compatible.  Get the i5-4670k or the i5-4570.
