[Build Log] Simple Yellow/Black Rig

micorawrus
Hey guys, this is my newest computer build after deciding to give my current computer to my sister. I'll be using using this new rig for streaming, video/photo editing typical work stuff and heavy gaming. I initially wanted to go with a mATX custom loop but decided against it and went with this build.

The plan is to go with the black and yellow system with painted Corsair AF fan rings to yellow and vinyl wrap some of the more exposed colored parts.

Same case. It's great but no optical drive bays :/

That's why i LOVE it. F*ck optical drives.

:D

But damn this thing take fingerprints better than any FBI agent, i had to wax it with car products after I finished building mine.

I know. And the window gathers scratches faster then I can patch them!

Yes it is. The solution might be to add some clear film to the window or something.

Good choice on the CPU cooler, it is just a bit of a pain to install.

Sadly the heatsinks on the ram aren't the same color as the MSI yellow but its not too bad of a color,
I'll stick with it for now and change it if it bugs me enough

Had some extra vinyl wrap laying around so I tried wrapping my SSDs and painting them yellow too. (Its horrible in person, I'll fix it later on)

Seriously, it was a pain in the butt. I don't know why 2 NXZT made products were so difficult to work together.

GPU front and back. Never had a video card with a backplate before, feels amazing. Has a good amount of heft to it.

Hnnng love yellow builds, mine was originally going to be a yellow themed build but Microcenter didn't have a deal on the microcenter.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Nice. Does the one card get hotter than the other with them being so close?

NZXT H440   //   MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX AC   //   i5 4670K   //   MSI GTX 780 Lightning 3GB   //   HyperX Beast 8GB 2400mhz   //   OCZ Agility

Temps weren't so bad but just in case I moved the second gpu down 1 slot. Everything is good running great with max temps under load ~71C for both cards.

What's on the SSDs

I had some vinyl tape laying around so I wrapped the SSDs in them, then decided to paint the vinyl. That way if I didn't like the look I could just peel the vinyl off and be back to stock.
