but if you was talking about a 60Hz monitor then yes

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

2 980's is the setup I will have for my ROG Swift.

Get a single gtx980

Stuttering will ruin your experience

If you want no stutter but powerful

Then get 295x2

You should get a g sync monitor and it will decrease stutters and it will be so smooth that u can just get a single gtx980

I have 2 980s and my main screen is an ROG Swift. In a lot of games I play like CoD, CS:S and such, yea, it's overkill. But when I play something else that's single player and a bit more demanding it's about perfect. Playing Tomb Raider, maxed out at 1440p with G-Sync on is BLISS. It looks amazeballs and plays super smoothly without any stutter. Ignore what people without this setup are saying.

 

I'd say it's entirely up to the games you're playing. If you/'re only playing not so demanding games, a 980 will wreck them at 1440p and you'll never dip below 100fps, ever. If you're playing games like Farcry, Tomb Raider, Metro ect then SLI becomes more relevant at 1440p/144hz, I have to say it's the most amazing experience I've ever had playing games.

I don't get stutter in SLI anymore. I used to get a buttload of it with my dual 580s but not with my 980s. Not at all. Maybe it's the G-Sync stopping it but I never noticed it before on my PB278Q

 what is the best, recent game you have played? I am just getting in and don't know many.
