Hello.

I'm looking to upgrade my PSU and new one for my brother as well. I'm listing here our builds and write about details after that.

Mine:

Mobo Asus Z87-K

GPU EVGA GTX 970

CPU i5-4670K 3.40GHz

RAM Kingston 8GB DDR3

HDD Western Digital Blue 1TB

SSD OCZ Vertex460 240GB

PSU Seasonic 520W

FANS 3x Corsair AF120 120mm LED + CPU Cooler.

Brother:

Mobo ?

GPU Asus GTX760

CPU i5 3570k

RAM 16Gb Something

HDD 1TB Something

PSU 500w Something

Fans 4x something

So i'm looking for something +750W that wont blow up everything and is future proof if i decide to something crazy and go i7 and SLI GTX 970. I don't need any fancy features. Price isn't a problem here.

My brothers PSU (Not sure what brand it is, could maybe check tomorrow) seems pretty low quality, and i'm not sure how well its going to do whit GTX 760. He has mentioned getting some frame drops after 2-4h of gaming from 60Fps to 30ish. This started to happen after upgradin from MSI GTX 560. Even if its not PSU problem, PSU is still going to get changed. Price cap here is about 100€/$ but talk about future proofing came up. I thinking about "Corsair 600W CX V2 Builder Series, 80Plus Bronze" here, but would 600W be enough for possible future GPU and CPU upgrades?

Thanks for your time!

So...Is this EVGA 750 G2 some kind of an messiah of power supplies? Would 750W be enough for SLI? I haven't dabbled around whit PSU's before so i really don't know.

You could get by with a 650W unit for SLI. The 750 G2 comes at a great price. So it's the favourite PSU here.

You could also go with Cooler Master V750.

If you want platinum efficiency, Corsair HX750i is an excellent unit.
