The most effective way would be to make him listen to a high quality music through an audiophile grade set of headphones. Even then you probably wont change his mind because he's probably one of those that only listen to music for the bass.

If your friend is buying it for sound, there is plenty that are way better. But if its for the look/statement of 'I have Beats headphones', then he can buy it. Depends of what he wants more, a statement or sound.

And you know what? they sound exactly the same as the real thing. IE - not great, but, tons of bass, so if you like heavy music they're tons of fun.

 

I have compared every single BBD replica I have to the real ones and they sound identical.

 

Just find yourself a contact in Hong Kong or China and cut out the middle man like I did and enjoy. When I go out people notice, no one knows I am wearing fakes. IE - they have exactly the same impact as the real ones, cause let's face it it's all about the look really.
