Cleaning DirectCU II cooler fans

So I was in the middle of cleaning my rig, and I saw that my video card had quite a lot of dust inside, so I wanted to remove the fans somehow. I looked closely and I saw 3 Philips head screws under each fan, holding them in place.

Would it be safe to remove them and clean the fans, or could I damage something?

Just use a brush, if you start blowing compressed air on that thing you might blow dust into the bearings. They might have dustfilters, but they do not withstand compressed air.
