BEST X99 MOBO?!?

Hey guys I'm building a X99 system with a 5820k and a MSI Gaming 980 along with Corsair LPX 2666Mhz CL15 DDR4 RAM. Mainly be used for gaming (I know it sounds wayy overkill, but I will be keeping this system for a while)

I am currently shopping around for a motherboard from Asus, And wanted to know what the difference between these motherboards is and which one I should get, The price goes up $100 AUD as I go up in mobo's

So the options are (Ascending $100 up from cheapest to most expensive) X99-A, X99-Pro and X99-Deluxe

Also should I get a STRIX 980? The reason I don't want to is because people have been reporting extremely high temps with it, Is this true? And is the MSI one good? I want silence but don't won't to sacrifice temps or performance

Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend getting an EVGA 900 series card unless you love super loud coil whine.

there are always some cards that have coil whine.

Coil whine is my biggest fear

I'm currently using the MSI GTX 970 Graphics card and the card is great!

Keeps cool and overclocks really well, I ran a 200MHz Base clock OC and temps didn't go above 70..

As for your motherboard options, whichever suits your situation best, features-wise.

Just because it's more expensive, does not make it better.

Although (Not sure if gimmick, haven't tested personally) The Asus boards are looking strong with that 'OC Socket' More pins for more OC, which doesn't make much sense to me, because the CPU Only has 2011 sockets points.. but meh.

It's all personal opinion and whichever suits your needs/aesthetics/budget the best :)

Good luck, it's a tough market !!

I have yet to see a 5yr warranty on an X99 board so it really comes down to the features you want (BIOS, PCIe config, SATA/mSATA/M.2, Intel vs. Killer LAN, etc.)

X99-Deluxe or WS would be my vote.
