Which 27" 1440p monitor I should buy?

Ryou-kun

Black Friday is right around the corner, and I am thinking to replace my 21.5" 1080p HDTV Display by giving it to my little bro for a 27" 1440p monitor with IPS Display.

I already have a second screen which is AOC Envision 19" 1440x900, and I am planning to keep it as my secondary monitor rather the 21.5" HDTV, lol.

Reason is that this monitor for some reason I can't let it go. It has been with me for a long time, and I don't want to replace it regardless it isn't 1080p.

Well, my only downside is my 19" monitor is that the stand isn't removable,

I do game but not as much, so I mostly use it for multitasking.

4K monitor is out of question because Window is bad at scaling it.

I don't know which is a good 27" 1440p monitor with IPS display.

G-Sync might be nice to have, but it isn't recommended if the price is higher than non G-Sync monitor.

However, it feels like 1440p monitor are quite limited, I am seeing a lot of 27" monitor with 1080p display. I mean am I missing something or what?

As for the budget, it should be less than $300 or $400 dollar, so I can grab it when it is on sale that day. :P

Why not? They're great monitors, especially considering the price, and underneath monitors like the QNIX QX2710 and X-Star DP2710 are Samsung PLS panels. Some Korean 1440p monitors can even be overclocked to 96 or 120Hz.

Single input: Qnix/X-Star, Overlord Tempest, Catleap

Multi input: BL2710PT, Q2770PQU, EV2736W, VP2770

All 1440p

I see.

Hmm, do they come with one year manufacture warranty?

How stable is the stand?

It looks a bit like plastic, so I am afraid it will snap.

Yeah it's 1 year. The stand I'm not sure what it's made out of, but it seems very stable and solid according to Logan.

I was a bit suss about them to begin with ( Korean panels ), but the price for them was always tempting compared to the monitor i was look at , at the time ,

then one popped up on Gumtree locally for $250au so took the plunge and brought it .....best thing ever

Looks Great ....even tho its only running of a gtx 560 atm lol

buying myself a second one soon and mounting them on a dual monitor arm when i find i good one and upgrading to a gtx970

Hmm, I heard that QNIX support DVI or something like that.

For me, I have been using VGA cable, so I am not sure if it will work with QNIX.

Also can I use a console such as Xbox 360/PS3 to play on the 27" monitor?

If you are going to use VGA dont even bother getting a 1440p monitor, VGA can only output up to 1080p. You will need anything modern other than VGA to run 1440p (sometimes hdmi doesnt work either depending on the version.)

Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga

Phone: Moto X Play 16GB White

dont do 27 inch 1080p

Why? It results in 92 ppi vs 82 ppi for the bigger screen. Is it so bad? I am searching for a monitor myself and stumbled across this:

http://www.acer.de/ac/de/DE/content/model/UM.HB0EE.A01

144 Hz

G-Sync

27" sadly 1080P

but "just" 450€

My eyes can still see very well and i care about fluidity, so IPS is not an option for me and i thought this would be a nice way to enter the G-Sync + 144 Hz market, even though it's 27" 1080P...

I currently have a crappy 6 y/o TN panel 60 Hz so i'm not spoiled yet but i think that's the way i want to go. :D

who cares...
