As long as your pc is shut off, then you shouldn't stress. This is assuming you want to reroute the cables now that you have a better idea of where you'd like to route them.

you won't lose any data. It's in the harddrive and not in the cable. Imagine it as a USB cable and an external harddrive/phone/camera etc. When you unplug it you don't lose all the data on it. Just make sure you turn it off and re-wire it.

Nope, wires dont affect data in anyway, just shut down your computer first then find away to cable management those wires...
